A Toxic Tomorrow

dVerse asks for a 44 word poem a Quadrille; using a form of the word “celebrate” have you notice how most of us celebrate things of the past, anniversary, birthday, holidays, why not the future? My prose or poem below you decide.

Yesterday was concerning. I wasn’t looking forward to tomorrow; because, then, tomorrow, my plans seemed toxic. I honestly can celebrate today and every day. Instead of celebrating the past, I celebrate the future. Today, that tomorrow is over and is now known as yesterday.

The World Today in the form of a letter

 A SCREWTAPE LETTER BY C. S. LEWIS

If you haven’t heard of these letters; you will do yourself a favor and learn something today!

This particular letter was published here today: https://fromrome.info/2021/02/22/we-are-living-in-a-screwtape-letter-by-c-s-lewis/

It describes our WORLD TODAY: Uncanny as it is!

C.S. Lewis wrote these words in his book “The Screwtape Letters” nearly 79 years ago. Amazing how this could have been written today:
′′One young devil asked the old man: “How did you manage to bring so many souls to hell?” The old devil answered: “I instilled fear in them!” Answers the youngster: “Great job!
And what were they afraid of? Wars? Hunger?” Answers the man: “No, they were afraid of the disease!” For this youngster: “Does this mean they didn’t get sick? Are they not dead? There was no rescue for them?”
The old man answered: “but no . . . they got sick, died, and the rescue was there.” The young devil, surprised, answered: “Then I don’t understand???” The old man answered: “You know they believed the only thing they have to keep at any cost is their lives.
They stopped hugging, greeting each other. They’ve moved away from each other. They gave up all social contacts and everything that was human! Later they ran out of money, lost their jobs, but that was their choice because they were afraid for their lives, that’s why they quit their jobs without even having bread.
They believed blindly everything they heard and read in the papers.
They gave up their freedoms, they didn’t leave their own homes literally anywhere. They stopped visiting family and friends.
The world turned into such a concentration camp, without forcing them into captivity.
They accepted everything!!!
Just to live at least one more miserable day . . . And so living, they died every day!!! And that’s how it was very easy for me to take their miserable souls to hell….. ′′

Prophecy, Anti-Christ, and today!

Today I will write about prophecy, Catholic prophecy.  No not flash fiction but I wish it were.

I am not a prophet and have no direct line to God.

However, I have read several prophecies concerning our day, the days of the Great Apostasy from the Church founded by Christ, as foretold in 2Thess. Chapter 2. Describing the times before the coming of Anti-Christ, with a capital “A.” Today is that time! Many know, and some don’t know, and others don’t care to know. Know about the Great Apostasy!  My experience or my serendipity moment happened over 35 years ago when I discovered the Catholic Church was not what it used to be. The Church was no longer One, Holy nor Apostolic, but an optical illusion. My neighborhood church and throughout the world slowly apostatized, now a man-founded religion that has adapted to the world a strange belief they called Vatican II.

What to do? Seek, and you shall find, I told myself, go back to what you have learned and believed from the beginning, and so I did.

****************

Back to prophecy: Here is an example of one said prediction of what will happen before Anti-Christ

“People will rise against peoples, and nations will rise against nations, sometimes allied, sometimes enemies, in their fight against the same party. Armies will come into frightful collisions and will fill the earth with murder and carnage.

As well as that. I see that the earth will be shaken in different places by frightful earthquakes. I see whole mountains cracking and splitting with a terrible din. I see come out of these gaping mountains whirlwinds of smoke, fire, sulfur, and tar, which reduce to cinders entire towns. All this and a thousand other disasters must come before the rise of the Man of Sin (AntiChrist.)

The Games They Play

The word of the day, today, according to Wright
is blatherskite. Jabberwocky, gibberish, or windbag, it’s all the same to me, meaning politics. A game they play as in Winnie-the-Pooh “People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day”.

What is a Triolet — Don’t Ask Me!

dVerse is asking for a Triolet with a rule of the meter is iambic tetrameter, that is, each line has four accented syllables with each accented syllable preceded by an unaccented syllable… (gulp! Hmmm!)

My attempt:

Very strange thing the world today
To rid itself of God
Why? — People just want to play
Indeed the world I see today
Will soon discover as they stray
Firing God not easy
A diverse world I see today
No wonder we feel queasy

OR

Very strange thing the world today

To rid itself of God

Why? — People just want to play

Indeed the world I see today

Will soon discover as they stray

Firing God! Oh how odd

A diverse world I see today

To rid itself of God

What IS, It IS WHAT IS, Elusive!

Time as we know it is WHAT IS, like the truth, it IS!
We wake up, wonder what the day will bring.

Are the days set in stone?

Each day a wonder, each day means something
different or ELUSIVE! (the word of the day)
Examples, A Friday to the secular “Finally Friday.”
A religious person might feel yes, finally, but also see it as
“Fervent Friday,” the day Our Lord died.
A secular; Saturday = Self Saturday, a religious-minded would think
more in line with Saintly Saturday, and a little about self.
Then there are Sunny Sunday vs. Sacred Sunday.
Mournful Monday, Moral Monday, Tired Tuesday, Trinity Tuesday
Wake up Wednesday compared to Worthy Wednesday; the news of the day brings us to Tittle Tattle Thursday,
to the religious person would desire a Truthful Thursday.
Oh, how the weeks fly and indeed are ELUSIVE!

Rhyming today’s NEWS

The prompt word today from Fandango is “PALTRY.
My thinking hat is worn out today, I could not create, however, wanting to help those who always have good ideas.  Thinking about the news with their use of the same words over, and over. Words to describe what we hear constantly and their rhymes or near rhymes make an exciting blog in itself, such as.

Consider the word Paltry rhymes with COSTLY
News rhymes with RUSE
Media with OPHIDIA or OPHIDIAN
Collusion with CONCLUSION
Impeach with LEECH
Politics with TRICKS
Russian with NOTHING

Hope this helps jog your creative genius.

Dance the Masquerade

Apologizing for telling the truth in our society is a sequelae of liberalism.
Examining the actions of those on the left, proves those on the right are

RIGHT!

Here is our fight:
Paid puppets
licking the blood of innocent babies.
Sightless who can no longer see; living in darkness;
are we boys or girls they question, animals or human.
Yet, they want all to follow, the blind leading
as they dance with the devil!

Dance the masquerade
The pretense of joy —Oh Boy!
Tomorrow; the tears
