Weekly Prompt

Did you ever wonder why?

Otherwise known as WATER

Most of us, all of us post our life, beliefs, feelings as I do! Aquatic or Water my first thoughts here. Thanks to Weekly Prompts for the inspiration!

***********************************

Did you ever wonder why God chose water for the Sacrament of Baptism? Baptism washes away original sin, the sin we all inherited from Adam and Eve. Water is the outward sign necessary in which the Sacrament washes away this deadly sin.

Continue to read a Bible commentary from the book of Romans:
Romans 6:23 according to Haydock's commentary, "For the wages, which the tyrant sin gives to his soldiers and slaves, is eternal death; but the wages, the pay, the reward, which God gives to those that fight under him, is everlasting life; which, though a reward of our past labours, as it is often called in the Scriptures, is still a grace, or free gift; because if our works are good, or deserve a reward in heaven, it is God's grace that makes them deserve it. For, as St. Augustine says, when God crowns our works, he crowns his own gifts." (Witham)

Yes, without water we are dead in more ways than one.

The Great Reset

Inspired to write on this subject from a recent sermon last Sunday.

AND

Prompted to Show or tell of that darkness and that light, and how one outweighs the other, with that I begin.

Allow me to explain the dark side of a new proposal; a high-profiled group calls for “The Great Reset.” They say all countries must participate in this reset of capitalism.
Readers here surely must have heard this term spoken of more recently since the Covid-19 crisis.
There is an urgent need for global stakeholders to cooperate in simultaneously managing the direct consequences of the COVID-19 crisis, thinking they can improve the world’s state.
We need a RESET for the entire world, but NOT as complicated and dark
as explained by the high-profiled elite.

Now the bright side of the word RESET!
A reset simply put, we need God in our life. God in our schools, the government in the world. That is the brightness of the Great Reset.
The light within the word RESET!

A note to the atheist reading here, this Brightside of the word RESET, does not take away your freedom; you will always have your Godgiven FREEWILL. At the same time, those who believe will have our RIGHT to pray—the best of two worlds. Speaking of the world, I am reminded of a little story told to me as a child.

Imagine this mother trying to find something for her little son to occupy himself while she needed some time alone. She found an image of the world in this magazine and tore it into tiny pieces, then told her son to think of it as a puzzle and put it in order. He did it in a few short seconds. Much to his mother’s astonishment, she said, “how did you do that so fast”?
The boy said, “Oh! on the other side of the picture was a man, and if you get him correct, the world is correct too.”

A “Share Your World” Post because

God is EVERYWHERE and or Ubiquitous (word of the day according to Fandango!)

Questions to answer according to Melanie Cee here at SYW

Four Questions

Must we have evidence to know the truth?

How much control does a person have over their life?

What is gravity and how does it work?

Can a person be happy if they have never experienced sadness? How about vice versa?

1. “Must we have evidence to know the truth?”

(answer

The Greatest Truth is, THERE IS A GOD! The evidence is there for anyone who loves the truth. The keywords are … LOVE OF TRUTH, because when you love the truth, God allows you to see that He sends you an error when you don’t.  “And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying:” [2 Thessalonians 2:10]

2. How much control does a person have over their life? (answer) When one abandons his will to the Will of God, we have complete control as well as peace of soul in our life. Prayer is the answer, God wants us to depend on Him, and so we should. When we pray, it is because we beg God; in other words, we rely on Him.

3. What is gravity, and how does it work? (answer) The word “Gravity,” in the sense I use on this post, is the grounding of self to His commandments for starters. Some go wrong and make excuses to act on mistakes knowing they are the wrong choices; however, convinced God wants them to act on sin. Their life so far lived without little or no love for truth, belief in lies is their end—the devil dances.  (been there done that)

<——————♫ ♪

4. Can a person be happy if they have never experienced sadness? How about vice versa?

(answer)    Everyone that lives long enough will experience sadness, happiness, and everything in-between; also, everyone desires happiness. The only way to obtain satisfaction would be to acquire a desire for the Will of God.

Don’t Believe It!

Why not God’s HOUSE?
Close the churches!

What a smart virus!
It knows!

In God’s HOUSE, the virus spreads.      Image1
Whereas in bars, grocery stores,
other gatherings namely “peaceful” protests. It can’t!

Strange times we live in
With Smartphones, Smart TV’s
all equal a Smart HOUSE.

Why?
I wonder it seems: the people
who own them are not very smart.

What is a Triolet — Don’t Ask Me!

dVerse is asking for a Triolet with a rule of the meter is iambic tetrameter, that is, each line has four accented syllables with each accented syllable preceded by an unaccented syllable… (gulp! Hmmm!)

My attempt:

Very strange thing the world today
To rid itself of God
Why? — People just want to play
Indeed the world I see today
Will soon discover as they stray
Firing God not easy
A diverse world I see today
No wonder we feel queasy

Will soon discover as they stray

Firing God! Oh how odd

INSPIRATION FROM THE Sunday Writing Prompt —

Accepting their challenge from this quote from Atticus;  –> “We just want the world to love the little monster that we are.”  Atticus a pseudonym for an anonymous poet, writer, and artist.

The prompt reminds me of another quote from the Bible:  The above quote from Attius to this quote below is my post today, Sunday, December 22, 2019.

Adulterers, know you not that the friendship of this world is the enemy of God?  Whosoever, therefore, will be a friend of this world, becometh an enemy of God.

Look what happened to SCROOGE!

SYW and the question are:

What’s your remedy for the Holiday blues?

Your favorite beverage (if it differs) during the holiday season?  If it doesn’t differ, just answer the ‘what’s your favorite beverage” part.

This one has been asked before, but what’s your take on pumpkin spice?

Is there is a person or god connected with your holiday?

  • Who are they and do you believe in them?
  • If you do not believe in these people or gods, does the celebration/honoring of that being, bother you in any way (e.g., ignored, dismissed, angry, etc.)?

Holiday blues, what is that?

My favorite beverage is, if thirsty I like water if eating pasta I enjoy a glass of Arbor Mist, Zinfandel!

Pumpkin Spice, sure, why not?

God?  My take on that  –>  The past few evenings, I have been tuning in to a few classic Christmas movies; hymns and notice the joy just the word “Christmas” brings. The word means Christ’s Mass on Christmas Day. Such a compelling Holy/Holiday, the unbelievers will never get rid of the word Christmas. Not sure why “unbelievers” are called unbelievers since they, too, believe; they decorate, celebrate as we all do in their way. At least the ones I know, even the stores, streets, homes, everything.

Look what happened to SCROOGE!

Notice that there is currently a move to change the wording of the Christmas parade to Winder parade, it might work for a short time, but the Christmas parade will return just like when they tried to change Christmas trees to Holiday trees, most stores again refer to them as Christmas trees.  It is what it is, CHRISTMAS!

It doesn’t sound correct to even say, Merry Winter everyone!  ♫

Hypocrisy the lIBERAL; a Limerick poem

My Limerick for today … Political, yes;  Comical yes;  Truthful, I think so!

************

Rules to remember besides being silly are, it’s five lines long
The first two lines rhyme with each other and with the fifth line
The third and fourth lines also rhyme
Limericks are also supposed to have a certain rhythm.

There once was a man who sought a position
He studied to do well at his audition
Do you believe in God? No, was his reply
You are just the type; helpful smart sort of guy
Thank God for that was his whispered petition

I hear His voice, “NEXT TIME!”

WORD PROMPT — Rainy Days

Read all about them from my point of view!

I love rainy days, although I wouldn’t want to see them too often. A good rainfall every ten days or so would be a welcomed treat. I imagine each raindrop as God’s grace/blessings falling from above to earth. Water purifying the air, watering the flowers and all His creatures. During a heavy rainfall we including birds, butterflies, bees and all, seem to hide for a while, and then when it stops raining we dance out from wherever, singing, buzzing all around, looking for the rainbow. Happiness is there once more, take the time to listen and see; rain bringing joy, even to those who didn’t revel in its beauty; they too are delighted when it ends.

Rain means aid is on the way; what help to me; I don’t have to water that day nor the next. Don’t have to drag those heavy hoses around, changing positions; it means more time to do other things.

Whenever it thunders, I feel so grateful to have a roof over my head; not everyone enjoys that protection, I realize that!

I usually find myself thanking God for every drop He sends me, although at times He teases me with a little shower instead, not even enough to wrought a puddle. “More, more,” I ask, with no avail. I hear His voice, “NEXT TIME!”

Just don’t SPILL IT… hard to clean up!

When I saw the Word of Day from FOWC; if you could have read my mind, it was so telling, “no not today.” What can I say about oil?   However, my guardian angel put an idea about OIL, I couldn’t resist.  There are many things to say about oil such as…

Has anyone ever noticed how “oil” is much like Truth, it always comes to the top?

God is good, He gives us little reminders of what is right, the opposite of RIGHT are words from the dictionary; Antonyms:
wrong, wrongfulness, left, two-handed, left-hand(a), leftmost, unsatisfactory, base, near(a), centrist, left-of-center, vicious, incorrect, immoral, larboard, parallel, center, erroneous, leftish, left-handed, liberal, nigh(a), condemnable, improper, inaccurate, deplorable, criminal, misguided, inopportune, far left, fallacious, mistaken, false, inside, reprehensible, wrongheaded, inappropriate, leftist, left-wing, oblique, middle-of-the-road, ambidextrous, port, incorrectly, wrongly

Not only does oil always come to the top as does truth; oil is often used for religious ceremonies of anointing the dying or sick, a Sacrament.
Oil is grand lubrication for everything, cooking with olive oil or coconut oil — a few examples. Oil, when you think of all its attributes, is no doubt one of God’s great gifts to humanity. Here below is a poem ~ John Newton.

When descending from the sky
The Bridegroom shall appear;
And the solemn midnight cry,
Shall call professors near:
How the sound our hearts will damp!
How will shame o’erspread each face!
If we only have a lamp,
Without the oil of grace.

Foolish virgins then will wake
And seek for a supply;
But in vain the pains they take
To borrow or to buy:
Then with those they now despise,
Earnestly they’ll wish to share;
But the best, among the wise,
Will have no oil to spare.

Wise are they, and truly blessed,
Who then shall ready be
But despair will seize the rest,
And dreadful misery:
Once, they’ll cry, we scorned to doubt,
Though in lies our trust we put;
Now our lamp of hope is out,
The door of mercy shut.

If they then presume to plead,
Lord open to us now;
We on earth have heard and prayed,
And with thy saints did bow:
He will answer from his throne,
Though you with my people mixed,
Yet to me you ne’er were known,
Depart, your doom is fixed.

O that none who worship here
May hear that word, Depart!
Lord impress a godly fear
On each professor’s heart:
Help us, Lord, to search the camp,
Let us not ourselves beguile;
Trusting to a dying lamp
Without a stock of oil.

A Villanelle, poetry form encouraged through dVerse.

God’s world in ruin, yet the sky still blue.
The current status well thought out;
Storm and counterfeit, that’s what we’ll do.

He watches from above, the perfect view
Man’s hellish plan; He laughs as they scheme.
God’s world in ruin, yet the sky still blue.

First, hush and block those who speak true
Kill their God, mute the good.
Storm and counterfeit, that’s what we’ll do.

God’s world in ruin, yet the sky still blue.
Black is now white, while white is black.
God smiles as His faithful carry through.

Work harder, conceal, quiet the few
Their voice must be stilled at any cost.
Storm and counterfeit, that’s what we’ll do.

We can’t stop now, but God who knew
Their game was finished before it began.
Sinking wrangling words — despair and spew
Storm and counterfeit, that’s what we’ll do.

Fandango’s Provocative Question, answered by me!

Each week Fandango will pose what he thinks is a provocative question for other bloggers consideration. His question is below, why not give us your input, just click here link:

+++++++++
“Do you believe in fate and predestination? If so, what or who is the source? If you do believe in predestination, is there anything anyone can do to change their predestined fate?”

I believe God has a purpose for every one of us in this life and on an appointed day, we will die. Prayer is most important in the discovery of this purpose without prayer we are left to our own discretion, and more often we are doomed to failure. God, however in my belief, also hears the prayers of others when they pray for us, especially our parents. He mainly listens to parents, when a parent curses their children, He hears that too!

We make our own choices, it’s called free will, to choose right from wrong that is what determines our peace of soul. God who knows everything knows our options before we make them He did not create us to be puppets. God wants us to depend on Him, which is why He showed us in the Bible the perfect prayer known as the Lord’s Prayer aka The Our Father, that prayer when you offer it has everything we need.

There is only One God not many gods as stated in the First of the Ten Commandments. The First three Commandments are how we are expected to treat God; the other Seven Commandments are how we are supposed to treat each other. It’s not that difficult. To pray is to be humble and God loves humility, to say no to prayer is Pride. As long as we have breath, it is never too late to start, but when we draw that last one, our will is fixed forever. Why? Because if we choose not to want God in our life, why would we want Him in the next?

Sorry Fandango, for the preaching, but you asked for it!

Is Nothing, Something?

Best way to get attention, in my opinion, is to ask for advice or ask a question like the title of this post today!  Daily Inkling wants to know.

*******

We find SOLITUDE when we dream, we write, compose and discover our sub-conscience.

Remembering, recollection, hindsight of a dream while traveling through
space and time. My trip began early one morning while still dark, dozed off on my coach and experienced a rare dream; rare because it was one that I remembered every detail upon returning.

While in my fantasy state, trying to explain how God always was and how did He become God anyway; boggled with that thought. I began to imagine if there never was a God there would be NOTHING! That was when the question entered, begging for an answer, only an atheist can answer. Is nothing, something?

Eyes to See, can you see this

What could be more ordinary than waking up and opening our eyes?

Eyes; complicated are its workings.

Could it be magic?

To simplify the magic; light enters; the light bends directly to the retina and triggers it by a message to our brain through the optic nerve. The signals enter the brain via the thalamus, which separates the incoming information into two parts, one containing color and detail, and the other movement and contrast. The messages then move to the back of the brain, and into the visual cortex. The cortex is laid out so that it mirrors the end of the retina, allowing a detailed image to be reconstructed.

This type of magic must be the supernatural kind, and some still say there is no God.

Word Prompts

Quite Controversial

Questions???

1. Why is it an atheist prefers to blame God for all the hardships in the world if they don’t believe in God?
2. How? is it the atheist camp spends so much time on pointing at Christians, not others who have beliefs within higher domains?
3. Finally, how could they possibly believe that all designed from the Universe on top to the debts of the oceans and beyond has generated by chance?

My logic explains question number 1 this way: They lose that argument since it doesn’t make sense to anyone, atheist or theist. The theist does not believe that this world, this life is perfect; the next life, living with God is perfect. Which is why Christians live by God’s commandments, and when they fall they pick themselves up and try again. Many times it is when they fall and refuse to pick themselves up that are the cause of so many sorrows in this imperfect world.
Question number 2; each person is seeking happiness, that is our goal, happiness can only be achieved by living according to your conscience, that God has given us as a guide to happiness. The atheist wants their own will be done, not God’s will. Therefore they attack the Christian because deep within their heart they know the truth, God put it there.  Also, what other religious leader was ever foretold before their birth.
That third question I put before the reading audience is the one that boggles my mind, almost to the point I want to say: Why hire an atheist, with their understanding of how things generate they will sit around and wait for everything to come together by chance.

Your New Page in the Book of Life

Day1

Imagine today as a new page in a book your journal. No matter what time it is as you read this post, or what day, imagine you are receiving a new page, as the saying goes, “today is the first day in the rest of your life.”
Imagine too, God looking down from His heavenly seat identifies actions such as birth or abortion.
He sees good reflections and evil plots.
He sees our sorrows for the above, and He notices the satisfaction.
He sees what pleases the Divine Majesty, described as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost also; He recognizes our thoughts, words, and deeds that offend and disappoint.
This new page we have is a second chance to examine our conscience.
Pray for the Truth, pray to love the Truth and to recognize, beg for this Truth, your eternity depends on it.

“And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying:” [2 Thessalonians 2:10]

Ask yourself, how can there be so many different TRUTHS.
Ask yourself what the purpose of my life is, to Know, Love and Serve God in this life.

Basic catechism, remember learning that!
